One of the preferred optional extras for the SDR-1000 is the M-Audio Delta 44 high grade professional sound card. This fits into a free PCI slot and is accessed by a breakout box on the end of a fifteen way connector. The breakout box is fitted with 1/4in jack sockets at the front for the input and output connections. To connect the breakout box to the SDR-1000 an optional set of 4 cables (PC-DELTA) are required (1/8in stereo to dual 1/4in balanced).

Please note that the 1/4in audio leads from the Delta-44 Sound Card to the SDR-1000 should be placed the right way round. This depends on the batch of leads supplied. A fault condition will manifest itself by the wrong sideband reception on receive i.e. USB instead of LSB and vice versa, and although the PTT will work, there will not be any microphone audio.

Great little kit for users of the DELTA 44 Sound Card. Once made this small interface board plugs into the back of the DELTA 44 soundcard 15-way D plug instead of the lead to the breakout box. This makes the DELTA 44 more conventional with 3.5mm jack sockets for all inputs and outputs. This means that 3.5mm stereo leads can be used to connect to the SDR-1000. Another bonus is that if using the DELTA 44 card for other activities such as PSK31, RTTY etc. again it is easy to connect to the DELTA 44 soundcard via 3.5mm stereo cable leads. A lot better than the breakout box with a multitude of 1/4in jack plugs and leads. Thoroughly recommend this product. Only proglem is that as a kit will need to be put together. Contains surface mount devices.

The SDR-100wpa is a 100W HF linear power amplifier, designed exclusively for use in the SDR-100. It is already included in the SDR-1000-100 model, but is an optional item for the SDR-1000-1. The amplifier is fully assembled and can be easily fitted into the DSR-1000 case. To use the PA the SDR-RFE board must be fitted, which it is in the DSR-1000-1.
