The MFJ-1020C tuned indoor active antenna system performs as well if not better than a long wire tens of metres long. Tuned circuitry minimises intermod, improves selectivity and reduces noise. You can also use it as a tuned preselector with an external antenna.
The MFJ-1022 Active Antenna covers the HF to VHF bands. It easily plugs into your general coverage receiver or scanner. Handles strong signals and reduces intermod with low noise reception. Provided with a detachable telescopic antenna.
The MFJ-1024 Active Antenna is supplied with a control unit for connection to the receiver and a remote unit with 15m of coaxial cable. This enables the active antenna to be located remotely away from possible sources of interference. The whip provided is extendible to 1.37m. It has a 20dB attenuator, gain control, ON LED and switch selection between two receivers for auxiliary or active antenna.
This unit is designed to eliminate local electrical noise even before it reaches the antenna socket of the receiver. This is achieved by a phasing technique which cancels noise received on two different antennas, but lets the wanted signal through. Unlike other units, this design enables signals to be recovered from below the noise level. A whip antenna is provided to pick up local noise and the main antenna is plugged into the rear SO-239 with the output going to the transceiver. An auxiliary antenna socket is also provided so that a short external antenna (rather than the whip) can be used to pick up the noise. It is then merely necessary to adjust the phasing and gain controls to hear the noise just drop away, leaving the wanted signal in the clear. Magic!
This unique short wave receiving antenna provides excellent reception over the range 1.8 to 30MHz. It is ideal for those with restricted space who want an efficient antenna system for use on the short wave bands. Just 2m in height, it mounts easily on a short mast or in the loft space and provides exceptional DX performance. Totally passive, there is also no risk of receiver overload. We have had many user reports back about the excellent results achieved. Simply connect the antenna to your receiver using any length of 50 Ohm cable.
The AT-100 from Vectronics covers 300kHz to 30MHz. Receives signals off its own whip or external antenna. It employs a tuned input that provides selectivity (controllable from the front panel) thereby reducing interference and noise. The AT-100 is powered from either an internal 9V battery or an external 12V DC supply.
