Constructed with 2m boom, 2x 6m elements and weighing 8.5kg. No ATU is needed, and only one feeder of 50 Ohm coax is required. The whole assembly can be rotated by a lightweight rotator.
Adapted from a military design (the manufacturer’s main business) the dipole element is directly fed with coax cable via a balun, and the reflector is fed through a phasing section and is terminated with an 820 Ohm resistor.
The manufacturer recommends that the antenna is fed by 60m of feeder laid straight out and not coiled. Alternatively reduction of RF and feeder length can be reduced by introducing a line isolator into the line.
