The MDC730HX is a manually operated screwdriver antenna with vernier calibration marks. The antenna included in the package (MD-200 whip) is approximately 2m long and has a foldover knuckle base section just above the top of the coil. Frequency is adjusted by moving the lower coil up and down. This is a positive self locking action so there is no risk of coil creep. Just hold the coil and slide it up or down. If you want to make sure of the adjustment long term, then an allen key screw can be locked in place. The base connection is a PL-259 fitting. Power rating is a generous 200 Watts PEP.
This is a very finely engineered product made in Japan and we suggest the best mounting method would be by using a 3-way magnetic mount. We suggest the Watson W-300S magnetic base.
