This is a very rugged microphone with superior low noise handling. The dynamic element is housed in a special sorbothane shock mount system. The cardoid pattern offers the greatest rejection at 180 degrees off axis which is directly behind the microphone, which provides the greatest possible rejection of unwanted noise.
The PR-30 comes with the SM-3 5/8th-27 mount assembly and is compatible with a range of stands and shock mounts.
We have used this microphone for recording instrumental groups close up. Even with high SPLs it works just fine and has won affection all over the world. It is also great for broadcast use. In 2008, over 50 touring groups in the USA specified Heil as their microphones of choice.
