The PSR-295 is designed as a simple AM/FM scanner that covers the VHF to UHF spectrum from 25 to 1300MHz with gaps. It has 1,000 memories which can be used to store favourite frequencies or the more important frequencies in each band. The channel spacing and mode are automatically selected depending on which frequency range is in use.
Power is from 4 x AA cells (not included) but it is suppled with a separate battery holder for rechargable batteries. These batteries can be charged in situ. using a suitable external 12V supply. The charger regulator circuit is built inside the radio.
