This is the antenna that features on Icom’s own advertising brochure in conjunction with the IC-703. Covering 7MHz - 28MHz, it can be used with a wide range of transceivers for portable work. It has a standard PL-259 base, so can be mounted on any SO-239 base. The PL-259 can be changed to a right angle configuration and locked into position. This is particualrly convenient for coming out of the back of the IC-703 or similar transceiver. Diamond also supply a pair of 5m radials that can be attached to provide a counterpoise - something that is normally essential for 1/4 wave vertical antenna operation.
