Single band mobile whips offer the most efficient form of radiator and easily out-perform multi-band models, with the exception of the screwdriver designs where performance is very similar. These standard whip resonators will handle up to 400 Watts of power. The whip can quickly be adjusted by moving the top telescopic section in or out and then locking with the nut (as shown). They offer an extremely versatile way of building up a complete mobile antenna system. In some installations it may be necessary to remove the whip and cut it down in length slightly. This depends on the vehicle layout. Once done, full band tuning is possible. (For mast sections see MO series)
