As the coil extends so the resonant frequency gets progressively lower, ranging from 3.5 to 30MHz and 54MHz without whip. The exposed coil is protected by a translucent weather-proof cover that can be removed for cleaning. Above the coil is screwed the 3ft whip. The base of the antenna is fitted with a 3/8in stud arrangement. However, due to the size and weight of the antenna, we strongly recommend the use of the TH-MT1Q bracket with SO-239 socket and quick disconnect, and the associated TH-MT2 mast flange.
