The smallest of the Watson power supplies offers a cost effective way of powering up a wide range of electronic products. Built to conform with the latest Low Voltage Directive and CE tested, this power supply will find wide appeal both for hobbyists and the professional. Over current protection ensures that it is short circuit protected. A front-panel fuse is included together with front-panel terminals.
There are many applications that require a medium sized power supply that will coolly run a variety of devices including low power transceivers.
The W-5A provides the answer and has been updated to fully conform with the latest regulations including the Low Voltage Directive and CE.
A front panel fuse and terminals provide easy access and the over current protection guards against short circuits
This is one our best selling power supplies because of its very wide appeal and versatile specification. Many RF amplifiers and mobile transceivers require a power supply able to deliver 10A or so, and the W-10AM fulfils the need admirably. Compact in size and ergonomic design, it is as much at home in the ham radio shack as it is on the professional service bench.
The variable voltage output makes it particularly useful for a wide range of applications and the front panel control offers a smooth transition from 0 - 15V DC with a click stop default setting of 13.8V. It has a low ripple voltage making it ideal for audio applications. The dual analogue meters offer clear indication of the operational settings and current being drawn, whilst the over current circuit offers protection against short circuits. Front panel. Three sets of output terminals plus a cigar lighter socket complete the features offered with this superb power supply.
The W-10SM switch-mode power supply is small and light enough to fit into a brief case and yet will power 50W mobiles with ease. It fully meets European regulations and with its 10A continuous rating it has a wide range of applications. It is fully over voltage and over current protected.
The Watson W-25AM is without doubt the market leader in heavy duty power supplies designed for a wide range of industrial and ham radio applications. perhaps one of its most popular uses is that of powering 100W radio transceivers. Rated at 25A with a 50% duty cycle, it will power SSB and CW transceivers for hours, and with the heat sink situated inside the case, there is no risk of external contact with high temperatures. It fully meets the latest EMC regulations (CE tested) and also the Low Voltage Directive. The variable voltage output from 0 - 15V DC is adjusted by a smooth front panel control with a click indent at 13.8V and the dual analogue meters provide accurate indication of the voltage setting and the current drawn. No less than 3 sets of output terminals are provided together with a 10A cigar socket. Over current protection is included and a front panel AC fuse and rubber feet are included.
The W25SM is a heavy duty switch mode power supply that is compact in size and weight. It is designed for a wide range of uses where a conventional power supply would normally be used. Perhaps one of the most popular uses is that of powering up radio equipment, such as 100W radio transceivers. The output voltage is fixed at 13.8V DC and the current is rated at 25A peak and 22A continuous. There are two sets of output terminals, the heavy duty terminals on the front of the unit for use with loads up to 25A, and a set of smaller captive terminals on the rear for ancilliary equipment with loads up to 6A.
Built to a very similar specification as the W-25AM, the W-30AM offers an increased power capability providing a full 30A output at 50% duty cycle and up to 35A peak current. An efficient internal transformer keeps the case size exactly the same as the W-25AM. As such it is able to power a very wide range of electronic items including most radio transmitters and transceivers. Professionals will appreciate the extra margin of power output available, and ham radio operators will find it able to cope with heavy duty cycle transmissions demanded by FM.
Todays high tech radios are becoming even more demanding than ever. And with power levels of 200 Watts becoming available, you need really substantial power supplies to run them. This means a stiff voltage rail and plenty of Amps.
Conventional analogue power supplies are far too heavy for such applications. So Watson set out to design a new range of supplies that meets todays needs. And when you look at the price you will have to agree that there is nothing quite like these for value for money.
Each unit features dual terminal ouputs, plus twin snap connectors, cigar socket and dual metering. The twin fan cooling is quiet yet efficient and the size is very manageable.
